The Proposition
Earlier in the evening, the Baudouin-Lacroix twins were busy plotting a major coup, masterminded from their mom's sewing and embroidery workshop, back in the peaceful and quiet commune of Grand-Gôave. Yves Loverboy Lacroix had been contemplating the idea of retiring or simply deserting the Diabbakas to become an independent malefactor for a long time. That dream materialized itself and turned into reality, embodied in the shape of a living person; a young Quebecker of Salvadorian descent named, Paquito Luis Villacampa. There he was, in flesh and blood, a tourist that knew more about Chuck Canada then the NPH and all the gossipers of the Kompa Lakay Club combined; a foreigner who also knew everything about the location of Chuck's secret stash. And good fortune didn't end there for the Baudouin-Lacroix twins. Yves Loverboy's brother, Yvon Cherokee, had in his possession, a list of bank account numbers, passwords, names and phone numbers he got from the president of Zanmi d'Haïti while he was guarding the delirious prisoner for local gangbanger, Jones Brooklyn.
Yves Lacroix used his mystical innate sixth sense to pick a random name from that exhaustive list. He chose Philbert Hans Orville Grosbois, a prominent lawyer based in New York City. That man was going to be his main pond, he told himself. Yves Lacroix wrote a convincing script, and then forced Paquito Luis Villacampa to make the menacing call and discuss a ransom price and the consequence of any delay or attempt to alert the police with the experienced jurist. An astronomic amount of money was asked to be paid in exchange of the liberation of the precious hostage. Yves Loverboy Lacroix gave Grosbois sixty minutes to come up with an answer and find the best way to transfer the money. In case the lawyer just said no, plan B, which was simply to find and steal Chuck Canada's La-Z-Boy chair, was to be automatically initiated. So with the extra information furnished by their Salvadorian informer, Yves and Yvon got in touch with Big Moose, a founding member of the SSG Cell gang of Longueuil. A win-win proposition was presented without any hesitation to the big man of the SSG clan.
